The Best Coffee in Huntingdon

Nestled in a cozy little gray-stone on East Main Street in Huntingdon, Tennessee, is The 1822 Coffee Co. This lovely coffee shop excels at bringing the upscale elegance of a European coffee house, and flawlessly blending it with the down-home hospitality of Southern, small-town U.S., and that is exactly what owners Mike and Susan Carey had in mind when they opened up shop in 2019.

What’s In A Name?

The name “The 1822 Coffee Co.” pays homage to both the owners’ roots in Carroll County, and to the town of Huntingdon. 1822 was the year Huntingdon (known as Huntsville at the time) was officially chartered.

The Coffee

The 1822 Coffee Co. is committed to promoting organic, sustainable farming. It is for this reason that their offerings include coffee from Nashville’s famous Bongo Roasting Co. Bongo Roasting sources their coffee beans from small, organic coffee farms all over the World, and have been building upon their treasured reputation since 1993.

More Than Just Coffee

Yes, 1822 sells a fine cup of java, but that’s not all they have. As far as drinks go, their selection rivals that of any National coffee shop chain in the business. They offer a variety of Rishi Hot Teas, Lattes, Espressos, among other hot drinks; as well as Cold Brew, Frappuccinos, and other iced drinks.

Drinks aren’t the only items on 1822’s menu. They also sell a variety of breakfast food items, including bagels, Croissant sandwiches, cinnamon rolls, muffins, and more. For lunch, they offer a good mixture of different sandwiches on your choice of bread, daily soups, and other items.
